If you are looking for a fantastic and unconventional spa then this is the place for you. A group of us visited yesterday and enjoyed the VIP Karenia room which has direct access to the wet area. There is no pool, jacuzzi or steam room so if that’s what you want you should look elsewhere. But there is the most fantastic sauna area which is where the ‘parenia’ treatment takes place. It was fascinating being in the sauna while the therapists swirled their sticks of oak, birch and eucalyptus around. The smell was wonderful!
The ice buckets and ice plunge pool are needed after warming up in the sauna. Treatments are unusual – I went for the aloe body mask and massage, both were very good.
The staff were lovely and professional – they made us feel very welcome from start to finish.
We didn’t eat because we had lunch booked elsewhere but the herbal teas were lovely and the Russian food menu looked great.
