Interesting and accessible experience of a Russian bath (birch whipping and extreme heat) with some no-nonsense treatments of rough scrubs and facials. Staff were welcoming and very hands-on to ensure you understand how to use the baths, processes and protocols. They are ‘in’ the sauna all day working hard and I have no idea how they survive heat exhaustion! The restaurant area is interesting for a first time but service is slow and the atmosphere is somehow a bit ‘modern office’ rather than dacha-hearty-communal. For a first time it works as an easy entry, but if I went every week I’m not so sure. Food is simple and ranges from perfect to mediocre. Overall a great experience to have but misses the fifth star for consistent service and long-term atmosphere.
