Happy 10th Anniversary Banya No.1!

Happy 10th Anniversary Banya No.1!

Would you believe that it’s been ten years since we first opened our doors? It has certainly been a very exciting decade for us in business and we want to thank all of our guests for making it so exhilarating and special.

We never like to stand still and if you caught yourself wondering whether our logo looks a little different, well you’d be absolutely right … Banya No.1 is moving into the future with a brand new look!

As our brand has matured, so too has our image. In fact, we are very excited about this new chapter and we want to especially thank our customers who took the time to answer our questionnaires earlier this year. Your insights have contributed to the rollout of our new brand identity.

Our anniversary celebrations wouldn’t be complete without a recap of some of the memorable moments we have experienced over the years. And, of course, it would be a crime not to share them with you!

Our first memory is of introducing the traditional Russian banya to a UK audience. Our goal was to take the banya into the global mainstream of wellness. In this respect, we truly believe we have built a fabulous success story.

Throughout the decade, we have attracted a plethora of international and local A-list celebrities. Indeed, they have been so happy with our exhilarating thermal experience and kept coming back. Our guests have included Kate Moss, Justin Bieber, Melanie C, Emilia Clarke, Stuart Martin, Ludacris, Harris Dickinson, Liv Tyler, Hayley Atwell, Renée Zellweger, Jack Whitehall, Tracey Ullman, Derek Chisora, and a myriad of other notable figures.

From Condé Nast Traveller and Harper’s Bazaar to Forbes and The Times, Banya No.1 has been featured in dozens of media articles. These press reviews have put big smiles on our faces and often made us laugh! Here’s one of our favourites:

“If Banya No.1 doesn’t knock jet lag on the head, nothing will.”

– Financial Times

We have also been highlighted in several TV programmes. For instance, an episode of Backchat with Jack Whitehall and His Dad was filmed at Banya No.1. Then, it was the turn of BBC’s Greg James who experienced a Parenie treatment (attention, he’s naked!).

Needing to get away from it all, broadcaster Adrian Chiles treated himself to a spa experience. In fact, the BBC show Round Up Of The Week actually filmed his Parenie!

Carl Frampton has also been spotted at Banya No.1. For the BBC Sport Spa Day Series, presenter Josh Denzel challenged the world champion boxer to try our invigorating treatments.

And that’s not all! Have you ever watched ITV’s Spa Wars? Not only did we participate in the show but we actually won, courtesy of Banya No.1’s founder Andrei Fomin.

Now for a brief overview of our history and achievements.

Having opened our first spa in Hoxton ten years ago, we didn’t want to rest on our laurels. In fact, throughout the decade, we have expanded our service and introduced Private Spa Taiga (est. 2016) at Banya No.1 – Hoxton. We have also opened two more Banya No.1 bathhouses!

Following the success of our first branch, we opened a second spa in London in 2021. In addition to the authentic banya and our signature organic spa treatments, Banya No.1 – Chiswick features a unique design with wood accents and other elements of the forest that complement the usual spa experience.

In 2022, we opened our first spa outside of the UK – in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. Built into the cliffside and 1,100m above sea level, Banya No.1 – Tbilisi comes with an outdoor terrace and plunge pool, not to mention the breathtaking views that our clients can enjoy throughout their visit.

And we are not finished yet … more Banya No.1 venues will be coming soon.;)

We could be reminiscing forever, but we’ll stop here…

Watch this space for more funny moments, special offers and gifts as we celebrate our anniversary throughout the next few months.

How Often Should You Visit a Spa?

For most people, visiting a spa once every one to two weeks is a healthy and sustainable rhythm. Regular spa and sauna use can support recovery and relaxation — as long as the frequency matches how well you recover. Banya Hat: Why Should You Wear It?

If you’ve ever visited a traditional Russian banya or Finnish sauna, you’ve probably seen people wearing cone-shaped felt hats. They may look unusual, but these simple accessories play a crucial role in the sauna experience. A banya hat, also known as a sauna hat, is typically made of dense wool or felt. It acts as
