Have you tried our delicious and super healthy borsch?

Borsch is a perfectly balanced soup in traditional cuisine. It combines vitamins and minerals, organic acids and enzymes, folic and pantothenic acids, and mineral salts and carotenoids, and the ratio of proteins, carbohydrates and fats is close to ideal.

The mix of vegetables is rich in fibre and acts as an excellent sorbent, gently removing harmful toxins and nitrates from the body, and preserving vitamins and microelements.

Properly prepared borsch has undeniable health benefits. Let’s go over the main ingredients.

Beet

This vegetable is especially beneficial for the cardiovascular system due to its high betaine content. Beets are also a source of nitrogen, which reduces the risk of hypertension. Beetroot is extremely good for gastrointestinal health; it is rich in many biologically active compounds and therefore has a hugely beneficial effect on the composition of the microbiota. It also has a strong anti-mutagenic, anti-carcinogenic and anti-inflammatory effect that will help protect against gastrointestinal cancers.

Cabbage

Cabbage contains a whole range of substances that promote good health: provitamin A, and vitamins C, B1, B2, B3, B6, K and U. Cabbage helps to fight stomach ulcers and it also enhances the liver’s ability to detoxify. In addition, in 2008 Polish scientists published an article proving that regular consumption of white cabbage may be associated with a lower risk of neoplastic diseases such as cancer of the pancreas, breast, prostate, stomach and lungs.

Potato

Potatoes are rich in potassium, which is essential for the normal functioning of the heart. They are also a source of important vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Eating potatoes can help you reduce the risk of cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

Carrot

Boiled carrots contain easily digestible carotenes, which are beneficial for the blood vessels and skin. Carrots also contribute to the production of vitamin A, which promotes rapid wound-healing, and strengthening and restoration of the epithelium.

Tomato

Tomatoes are a source of lycopene. These substances act against cancer cells and have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and immunostimulant effects.

Garlic

Garlic is an aromatic source of phytoncides that feed the beneficial bacteria of our microbiota. It also has antimicrobial and antiseptic properties.

Parsley and dill

When a handful of parsley and dill are added to borsch, the dish becomes a source of biologically active substances, and it enhances the ability of cells to self-purify.

Bouillon

Borsch cooked with meat broth is a source of protein that promotes high efficiency; it nourishes and saturates the body for a long period of time.

When you consider all the benefits of borsch, there can be little doubt that you should try this super healthy soup on your next visit to Banya No.1!
