FAQs
How does Wednesday Club differ from a regular Banya No.1- Hoxton experience?
What do I need to bring with me?
Public Banya:
If you don’t want to bathe nude, then you can bring your own swim shorts or purchase from Reception (£12).
Flip-flops are recommended for your safety, as the floors may be slippery. Feel free to bring your own, or if needed, you can purchase a pair at Reception (£8).
To protect yourself from the heat in the steam sauna, a felt hat is also advised. You’re welcome to bring your own, borrow one of ours, or purchase a new one from us.
A complimentary towel will be provided.
Private Banya Taiga:
Complimentary towels and slippers are provided for all private banya guests.
Please bring your own swim shorts, or you can purchase from reception (£12) if you prefer not to bathe nude.
Can I order additional treatments?
Yes you can order Parenie, Deep Tissue Massage or Honey Detox Massage – the easiest way is to book a event package that already includes the treatments. We highly recommend ordering treatments upfront to ensure availability on the day.
Can I use my own venik?
Using personal veniks is not permitted anywhere in the public area. You are welcome to use your own venik in the private banya only.
Can I come with children?
Children aged 8 and above are welcome to join our public spa sessions. For private bookings, children of any age can attend, giving families the flexibility to enjoy the banya experience together. However, please keep in mind that introducing younger children to thermal experiences is at your discretion, and we recommend considering their comfort and wellbeing during your visit.
What’s your cancellation policy?
Our cancellation policy allows you to cancel up to 72 hours before your booking for a full refund. Cancellations made within 72 hours of your appointment are non-refundable. We recommend notifying us as early as possible if you need to change or cancel your booking.
Is there parking available?
Free on-street parking, including residential bays, is available on Micawber Street and parallel roads on weekends and after 6:30 pm. At all other times, visitors to Banya No.1 – Hoxton can use these parking bays at a cost of £7 per hour. For more details on parking zones and restrictions, please visit the Hackney Council Parking Zones page.
Can I come if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
We don’t recommend using our facilities during the first trimester of pregnancy. After that, please consult your GP or healthcare professional to determine if it’s suitable.
Can I come if I have a health condition?
If you have a health condition that might affect your use of our thermal facilities and services, we recommend consulting with your doctor or healthcare professional beforehand to ensure it’s safe for you.
