Women's Guided Banya

A Ritual Space for Release, Warmth & Reconnection

Join us for a special women-only banya experience at Private Banya Taiga — a slower, more intentional journey through heat, steam and shared ritual.

This session is guided by banya practitioner Sasha Davai, who brings together ancestral Slavic bathing traditions with contemporary ritual practice.

Through three gentle steam cycles, you’ll be guided to release tension, reconnect with your body and return to a quieter inner ground.

Expect contrast therapy, organic salt scrubs, breath, sound and collective Parenie — all held in a supportive, women-only space.

Between cycles, we rest, share tea and connect — creating space not just for heat, but for presence and community.

Your ticket includes all rituals, tea and refreshments throughout.

FEATURED PRACTITIONER: SASHA DAVAI | BANYA GUIDE

Sasha Davai is a banya guide, artist, social anthropologist and researcher of global bathing cultures.

Her work explores the neofolk practice of Slavic ceremonial banya and the wider language of ritual bathing — how people return to water, warmth and community as forms of care and transformation.

Bringing these traditions from her homeland to the UK, she weaves together ancestral knowledge with contemporary approaches to collective steam rituals.

Her focus is on creating women’s guided banyas held with intention and care — spaces where women can let go of what’s heavy and reconnect with their natural state.

What are women-only spa hours?

Women-only spa hours are from 9:30 to 12:30 every Monday. During these hours, our main spa is exclusively open to women, providing a relaxed and comfortable environment for your wellness experience.

What’s the difference between public spa and private spa sessions?

Public spa sessions at Banya No.1 – Hoxton offer a shared experience where you can enjoy the banya’s communal amenities alongside other guests, making it a great option for those looking to relax in a social setting. In contrast, private spa sessions provide exclusive use of the facilities for you and your group, offering a more intimate and personalised spa day.

Both options include access to our signature treatments, steam sauna, and cold plunge, but private bookings ensure a dedicated space and tailored service.

Can I be naked in the sauna?

Yes, during women-only spa hours, you can be naked in the sauna and wet zone.

Please note that nudity is only allowed during single-sex hours and only in the steam room and wet zone.

Please also note that during women-only hours there can be some presence of male therapist performing Parenie ritual.

What shall I bring with me?

Public Banya:

For female guests who don’t want to bath nude, we recommend wearing a bikini (not swimsuits) to allow the steam to circulate better around the body during steam room experience and the Parenie ritual. You can bring your own or purchase from Reception (£15 for a bikini).

Flip-flops are recommended for your safety, as the floors may be slippery. Feel free to bring your own, or if needed, you can purchase a pair at Reception (£8).

To protect yourself from the heat in the steam sauna, a felt hat is also advised. You’re welcome to bring your own, borrow one of ours, or purchase a new one from us.
A complementary towel is provided guests.

Private Banya Taiga:

Complimentary towels, gowns and slippers are provided for all private banya guests.

Please bring your own swimwear, or you can purchase from reception (£15 for a bikini) if you prefer not to bathe nude.

For female guests, we recommend wearing a bikini (not swimsuits) to allow the steam to circulate better around the body during steam room experience and the Parenie ritual.

Can I order additional treatments?

Yes, you can order additional treatments outside of our spa packages, but they are subject to availability. We recommend booking them in advance to secure your preferred treatments.

Can I come with children to the bathhouse?

Children aged 8 and above are welcome in our public thermal spa. If you wish to bring younger kids, you can do so with a private bathhouse booking, which also includes a TV to keep them entertained while you enjoy your rituals and treatments. However, please remember that introducing younger children to thermal experiences is at your discretion, and we recommend considering their comfort and well-being during your visit.
