What type of massage is best for you?
At Banya No.1, our valued customers have a wide range of massages to choose from. Every masseur who works in our spa is appropriately qualified and will provide an exceptional service when performing one of the following massages.
Deep tissue massage
With a deep tissue massage, firm and sustained pressure and slow strokes are used to massage the deep, inner layers of muscles. This helps to break up any scar tissue, the so-called “knots” that inhibit circulation and cause pain and inflammation. The stripping and friction techniques help to unravel these knots and reduce tension in the muscles and tissues.
Shiatsu massage
Shiatsu is a Japanese word that means “finger pressure” and this unique and alternative massage came to us from the East. The idea is to produce various effects on the human body by applying pressure at certain energy pathways called Vital Points, and to recognise and restore patterns of disharmony. This form of therapy helps to stimulate blood circulation, release toxins and tension in the muscles, reduce stress, and improve a person’s overall wellbeing.
Remedial massage
This therapeutic form of massage aims to locate and repair damaged areas of the body, ease day-to-day stresses, relieve muscular tension and promote relaxation. Depending on the desired goals, a remedial massage can be used to either reduce muscle pain or specifically aid relaxation. Therefore, a wide range of specialist techniques are used, the most common being compressions, wringing, rolling, deep strokes and effleurage. In fact, all these techniques help to restore energy, and deliver oxygen and blood to the treated areas.
Reflexology massage
A reflexology massage involves using targeted pressure-point techniques on the feet, hands and ears to restore the flow of vitality throughout the body. It is believed that certain organs can be manipulated by applying pressure on specific points. This type of massage helps to increase the flow of blood and the level of nutrients. It also stimulates nerve impulses, which ultimately calm the central nervous system, promote relaxation, and improve a person’s overall health and balance.
All these massages are available upon request at both branches of Banya No.1 and you are free to choose the one that will suit your individual needs.
