Visited Banya No.1 with two friends on a Saturday morning. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful, given two of us had never even been to a Spa before, let alone a Russian version. We were shown around, given instructions on how long to stay in the steam room, and how to use the ice-cold bucket and plunge pool. We were shown to our booth table where we would sit and eat and relax between treatments. We all had the Parenie, which felt amazing once we got over the shock of being naked. Being uptight white English men, this tested our mettle slightly, but the hosts remained straight-faced, thankfully. We stayed three hours, steamed and dunked ourselves thoroughly on and off and eat well. Really great experience, and I will definitely be going back.
